Investigators Notes:

Jennifer, lead investigator:

After reviewing everyone's notes, here is the final summary of this investigation. To start, we checked the foundation of the house, testing how well voices traveled from outside to inside. It was determined that sound traveled very easily, which could explain the voices that were heard. The foundation of the property allowed sound to travel within the house as every creak echoed from stepping on the floor. Many investigators had personal experiences, but very little was captured on equipment.
UPSTAIRS:
Tania and Sarah both experienced a static-like feeling of chills and saw shadows. Nothing was picked up on equipment, and all experiences were personal.
MAIN FLOOR:
Nothing noteworthy happened here except the fall of one of our hung bells. It was taped up near the kitchen entrance, but we had to move the camera there, so all we caught was the audio of it falling. It is quite possible that the electrician's tape became loose, but we can't confirm whether it was knocked down or just dropped.
Neshela had a personal experience on this floor. She dreamed about a shadow standing over her during the night, which made her so uncomfortable that she had issues sleeping throughout the night.
THE BASEMENT:
Out of all our team, Tania had the most personal experience in the basement. She became very uncomfortable during our pre-investigation setup and her solo. It is important to note that she felt physical ailments in her body, which are commonly reported there. I intentionally left this information out in our pre-investigation notes to see if somebody would report it. She was the only one to report this. None of our team besides me knew about reports by others.
During Tania's solo, she felt uncomfortable, heard a loud bang on one of the pipes, and came rushing upstairs. We checked what could have caused this and found no reason. We even checked the outside property again to see if we could create the noise in the basement and were unsuccessful.
Other occurrences in the basement weren't as dramatic. There was a random flicker on the EMF trip wire, which was covered with a Faraday bag, and a motion light occasionally was triggered. All of our equipment had fresh batteries at the start of the investigation.
The Faraday bag, in theory, should protect against random EMF spikes that occur naturally around us. Prior to investigating, we shut off all electricity in the basement.
The trip wire should have been covered differently with the bag. Next time, we will use Faraday fabric and Faraday tape to seal the device properly, thus avoiding any possible leaks.
The process of what caused the EMF flicker is being studied by reaching out to the equipment maker and asking specific questions to be determined at a later date. The original base test resulted in no EMF issues; however, EMF can travel outside and even underground. These are natural occurrences, not necessarily paranormal.
LOCATION CLAIMS:
The claims that people were killed on this property, that there was a serial killer(s) responsible for any deaths in the neighborhood, or that there were hangings have not been fully proven. "Serial killer(s)" rumors started and came predominantly from investigator(s) personal "dreams."
Although towns in this area may have been "sundown towns," our team was unable to find appropriate documentation to prove this claim true about Yates Center.
The claim that burnt ashes from people are in the basement is also unfounded. To prove this claim, the soil would need to be tested in a proper lab. Until that has been done, we cannot say this is true.
This was our first trip to Yates Center, Kansas. The town was very small, and the people were kind! We may visit again!
